The more management is about change the more management has had to change.
There was a popular saying when I first entered management it was,” Management is the management of change. “ For many of my colleagues this was a challenging idea. And yet it didn’t seem to occur to me or my colleagues that this might mean managers would have to change. That we would be expected to be people managers, EDI champions, to develop our staff, that we some how we’re responsible for the health and mental wellbeing of team members, this was all HR stuff wasn’t it?
