Plan vs Wish

Following on from my back-to-basics blog which has been on the PYBUS RECRUITMENT agenda for some time. It doesn’t matter what sector you are in, the challenges we face remain fairly constant.

Our biggest challenge currently is counter offers. I get it, finding quality candidates in Automotive is tough and no business wants to lose talent. However, candidates should consider what triggered their motivation to seek a move. It’s frustrating for all concerned but we meet as a team and continue to do the basics and the right thing by both candidates & clients to build long-term relationships.

During a recent screening of a very good candidate, I asked a question that many of my contacts have heard before.

Q.  What’s your plan?

A.  To sell as many cars as I can…

I suggested that was a wish…

I then explained, a plan would be to make 5 prospecting calls with a view to getting an appointment, speak to 2 customers in the service department and make at least 2 offers.
