Location: Kings Langley
Salary: Competitive DOE + Quarterly Bonus
Hours: 45 Hours per Week
Pybus Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Controller on behalf of a highly successful and growing accident repair business based in Kings Langley.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Workshop Controller to join a busy, modern bodyshop operation where you’ll play a key role in driving workshop efficiency, maintaining repair quality standards, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
The Role
As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of workshop operations, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. You’ll work closely with the Bodyshop Manager, technicians, estimators, and support staff to maximise productivity while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
This role would suit someone with previous bodyshop, accident repair, or vehicle repair management experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage workshop loading and vehicle workflow to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved
- Coordinate incoming repair work with administrative and logistics teams
- Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency, and repair quality
- Maximise utilisation of technicians, equipment, and resources
- Ensure all repairs are completed in line with manufacturer and company standards
- Deliver outstanding customer service throughout the repair journey
- Monitor vehicle progress and communicate updates where required
- Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and workshop procedures
- Ensure appropriate use of PPE and promote a safe working environment
- Identify and report any Health & Safety risks
- Allocate repair work effectively based on technician skills and workshop capacity
- Monitor material usage and minimise waste
- Ensure customer vehicles and personal belongings remain protected while on site
- Explain repair procedures and timescales clearly to customers and workshop staff
- Support operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller within a bodyshop, accident repair centre, dealership, or vehicle repair environment
- Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and bodyshop operations
- Knowledge of vehicle construction and repair methods
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong organisational and workload planning abilities
- Good IT and system skills
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and risk assessment procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A proactive approach to improving workshop performance and efficiency
