Job Title: Panel Beater

Location: Oswestry, SY11

Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) + time saved individual bonus

Monday to Friday – 8am-5pm – 42.5 hours a week – no weekends!

Our client is a well-established, excellent Shropshire brand – Incorporated in 1918, they have over 105 years of retailing vehicles in Shropshire, enjoying a long and well-earned reputation for quality vehicles and excellent customer service.

They operate 3 franchise dealerships across Shropshire representing 4 manufacturers’ car, and van brands.

Position:

They are seeking a skilled and experienced Panel Beater to join their reputable accident repair centre offering an excellent work-life balance with no weekend work. This role is perfect for a professional with experience in all aspects of bodywork to include welded and bonded panel replacement.

Job Duties:

• Strip and refit parts where necessary, ensuring proper panel alignment and adjustments.
• Identify and report any damage not included in the original job scope.
• Assess and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
• Ensure completed vehicles comply with safety standards.
• Handle the safe removal and storage/disposal of vehicle components, fluids, and gases.
• Complete quality control inspections and sign-offs at each repair stage.
• Follow repair methods (e.g. e-scribe, manufacturer guidance) and ensure they are visible on the job.
• Use protective coverings (seat covers, foot mats) on all vehicles.
• Perform filler repairs to a P180 finish, checking for pinholes.
• Apply underseal, weld-through primers, and anti-corrosion treatments as required.
• Maintain tools and equipment, and report any defects to your line manager.

Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a similar panel beating role
• Manufacturer training/qualifications (preferred)
• Current AOM009 welding certificate or BS equivalent
• Experience in MIG brazing, spot welding, riveting and bonding techniques
• Awareness of high-strength and Boron steels
• Light MET qualification linked to ATA (advantageous)
• Bonding certification (advantageous)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• A proactive, can-do attitude and a strong team player
