Job Title: Commercial Vehicle Technician 

Location: Newcastle NE6 

Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 basic depending on qualifications, plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus and Time Saved Bonus Scheme-OTE £45-50k 
Hours: 40 hours between Monday-Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am – 12:30pm  

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time 
 

Overview 

We are recruiting for a Commercial Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a fantastic workshop team. Working alongside experienced technicians, you will play a vital role carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology, conducting vehicle services, and completing any additional repairs required. 
 
You will report to the Aftersales Manager, who will provide ongoing support and ensure you have the tools needed to succeed in your role. Our Commercial Vehicle Technicians / Mechanics play a vital role within the Service team by delivering first-class customer service every time. If you are a qualified Vehicle Technician or an experienced Mechanic, whether you work in a dealership environment or an independent garage, we would like to hear from you. 

Responsibilities 

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles 

• Carrying out checks in line with manufacturer guidelines 

• Fitting any additional accessories requested by the customer 

• Completing vehicle health checks and reporting any further work required 

• Checking vehicle lights, tyre pressures, mechanical and electrical components 

• Completing minor repairs on new and used vehicles 

• Understanding and carrying out basic diagnosis of mechanical and electrical faults 

• Conducting vehicle servicing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and customer requirements 

• Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer 

• Completing warranty repairs in line with manufacturer standards and ensuring all documentation is completed accurately 

• Road testing vehicles to ensure faults have been rectified 

• Completing all relevant paperwork to a high standard 

About You 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Mechanic or Vehicle Technician. You will be self-motivated, ambitious, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship. 

Requirements: 

• Full UK driving licence 

• NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) 

Previous experience working with a vehicle manufacturer would be advantageous but is not essential, as full accreditation training can be provided.
