Body Shop Manager – Bishop’s Stortford

Pybus Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a highly successful automotive repair group to recruit an experienced Body Shop Manager for their busy and well-established site in Bishop’s Stortford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially minded leader to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a high-performing body shop. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving profitability, leading a skilled team, and ensuring operational excellence across the business.

The Role

As Body Shop Manager, you will:

• Lead and motivate a team of technicians, painters, MET technicians, estimators, and support staff
• Oversee all aspects of workshop operations, productivity, and efficiency
• Ensure repairs are completed to the highest quality standards and within agreed timescales
• Manage budgets, costs, and profitability targets
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous business improvement
• Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain strong insurer and manufacturer relationships
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations
• Recruit, develop, and retain talented team members

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience as a Body Shop Manager, General Manager, or Senior Bodyshop Leader
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• A proven track record of delivering financial and operational performance
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of body shop processes, repair standards, and industry best practices
• A full UK driving licence
