Govt urged to tackle backlog as local roads branded “national embarrassment”
The condition of local roads in England is deteriorating, and a multibillion-pound repair backlog is expanding. As public frustration grows due to the increasing disrepair and the damage caused to vehicles by potholes, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has criticized the Department for Transport (DfT).
