Job Title: Motor Vehicle Technician

Location: Basingstoke, RG21 6XH

Salary: Basic Salary £36,608 (depending on experience and qualifications) + opportunity to earn up to £18,000 bonus (annually)

Full Time and Permanent – 4 day week!

Our client is an automotive retailer representing prestigious car Brands, they have a total of 30 businesses providing sales, service and accident repair services across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire.

Established since 1931, they are a successful and progressive third generation family owned business.  

They are now actively looking to recruit for a Qualified Vehicle Technician / Mechanic for their premium and luxury dealership in Basingstoke. They are happy to consider Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 qualified Vehicle Technicians / Mechanics.

They work a 4 day week, working pattern.

Key Responsibilities

·                  Using diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach, ensure vehicle faults are diagnosed and rectified.  Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.

·                  Ensure full understanding of latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them.

·                  Carry out diagnosis, repairs and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.

·                  Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.

·                  Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified.

·                  Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road-testing vehicles after work has been carried out.  Liaise with Service Advisor.

·                  Complete relevant service documentation (job sheets, PDI’s, service reports) in line with brand standards, warranty and site requirements.

·                  Complete vehicle health checks

·                  Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are always maintained including the use of special and personal tools.

Essential Skills & Requirements

·                  Relevant Level 3 City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ accreditation

·                  Competency in numeracy, literacy and IT.

·                  Energy and enthusiasm.

·                  Full UK driving licence.

·                  Smart appearance.

Our client will also consider Level 2 qualified Technicians and also Diagnostic and Level 4 qualified Technicians, they salaries for these roles will vary depending on qualifications and experience.
