UK firms fear financial strain from upcoming sick pay reform
Employers have raised concerns about the financial impact of proposed changes to statutory sick pay (SSP).
Three quarters of employers are worried about the added costs of SSP reforms, a survey of 600 business decision makers by HR outsourcing firm The HR Dept revealed, with 62 per cent expecting it to have a negative financial impact.
Under changes in the employment rights bill, employees would be entitled to SSP from the first day of absence, replacing the current three-day waiting period. Read More
